The Resurrection of all comebacks

Preview – The Stone Roses Reunion comeback gig

Some will say they are doing it for fool's gold, others will wonder if as they enter middle age they just wanna be adored. However, the only thing the fans of the legendary band the Stone roses care about is their much desired reunion tour. 15 agonising years have passed since the band last performed; following a weekend of rumours over the group’s anticipated comeback, one of Brown’s friends told The Telegraph the Star told him: “It’s happening.” The ban will play two gigs planned for next year, followed by a tour.

It is rumoured they will be playing some new songs, and a new album is in speculation. Nevertheless, fans will undoubtedly be longing to hear songs from their eponymous album, hailed as one of the greatest debuts of all time.

Despite all the legal battles, fall-outs, bad mouthing and assurance they would never get back together, the original line up, singer Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Gary "Mani" Mounfield and drummer Alan "Reni" Wren are all set for their two gigs at Heaton Park in Manchester on 29 and 30 June 2012.

The much missed band managed to sell out all 150,000 tickets within 68minures after they went on sale at 9am as desperate fans swamped the booking website with applications. This makes the Stone Roses tour, one of the quickest selling tours of all time.

When asked how long there reunion would last Brown told BBC news “We will ride it as long as we can," music to many fans ears. Brown admits he is putting his solo career on ice while the reunion takes place.

For all those die-hard fans, summer 2012 is certainly one that will not disappoint. The resurrection of the Stone roses is in full swing, with rumours they could be the main line up for the V festival summer 2012.er
